DRYSTONE WALKS BOOKING CONDITIONS

When you make a booking, you confirm that you have the authority to accept and do accept on behalf of your party the terms of these booking conditions.

If you have any disability or health problem which could require treatment or assistance during your holiday, or have any special request, you must advise us at the time of booking.

Please advise us of any smokers in the party. B and B’s are strictly non-smoking establishments.

The price of your holiday includes

Bed and Breakfast, based on two people sharing a room.
Transfer of an overnight case to your next accommodation. (One case per person). Please note that B&B proprietors are not insured to carry customers.

A Walk pack (one per booking) containing:

Ordnance survey (OS) walking map 1:25000 scale.
Detailed walk notes and map cards produced by Drystone Walks
Map holder, compass key ring.
Detailed instructions of how to get to your accommodation and to the start of each day’s walk.
A copy of the Countryside Code
Details of short circular walks from most overnight destinations which can be done in an evening or on a rest day.
General information about the history, geology and nature of the area.
Notes on pubs and places offering refreshment along the way and opening times.

In the event of cancellation

You have a right to cancel your holiday within seven days of booking. A full refund of payment will be made, provided the cancellation is made at least six weeks (42 days) before the start of the holiday

We reserve the right to make changes to the advertised price at any time before your holiday is confirmed.

We reserve the right to refuse a booking.

If you cancel your holiday between 6 weeks and 2 weeks before your holiday, you will receive a 50% refund of your total holiday payment.
Cancelling within 2 weeks of your holiday will mean that the whole of your holiday payment is forfeit.

Alterations to your booking

If you wish to alter a booking in any way (such as starting date or accommodation) after our confirmation invoice has been issued, we will do our best to meet your request but cannot guarantee that it will be possible. Any request must be in writing, although initially it can be discussed by E-mail, phone or fax.

An administration fee of £45 per booking will be charged.

In the unlikely event of us having to alter your booking (eg change of accommodation), we will discuss the change with you as soon as possible.

Jurisdiction

All matters arising from your contract are governed by English Law and are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Insurance

We strongly advise clients to arrange adequate insurance for their holiday.
Any Insurance should include cover for the cost of cancellation, personal accident, illness or loss of possessions as well as the cost of assistance (including repatriation costs) in the event of accident or illness during your holiday.

In the interests of safety, you must undertake: to read our advice on risk taking, and the walk notes provided; to obey any temporary warning or advisory notices encountered on your walks; to follow the country code and act sensibly and prudently at all times.

Force majeure

We regret we cannot accept liability or pay any compensation where the performance or prompt performance of our contractual obligations is prevented or affected by, or you otherwise suffer any damage or loss as a result of, force majeure.

Force majeure means any event that we, or the supplier(s) of the service(s) in question could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such events may include war, or threat of war, riot, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events outside our control.

Complaints

If, during your holiday, you should have a problem with your accommodation please speak to the proprietors without delay so that it can be dealt with at the time.

If your complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction, please write to us within 21days of the end of your holiday.

If the complaint is about the walk, or administration, please write to us, within 21days of the end of your holiday.

Please keep letters concise and to the point. This will assist us to identify your concerns and speed our response to you.

We aim to respond to any complaint within 7 working days, and expect to be able to resolve matters amicably. However, our decision after weighing up all points of view has to be final.
